You may know that having your tires rotated is important but not understand why. Here are some of the reasons why a tire rotation is a vital part of your vehicle maintenance schedule.
Your tires wear differently depending on where they are on your vehicle. For example, the front tires on a front-wheel-drive vehicle may incur more wear than the back tires. If you don't rotate them, the front tires can wear out much faster than the back tires. Uneven wear can cause your car to use more gas than it otherwise would, and tires that are excessively worn can be a safety risk, because they are more prone to blowouts.
It's a good idea to have a tire rotation done about every 5,000-7,500 miles, which is about every oil change. If you bring your car in to our dealership's service center, we can rotate your tires for you.
